Britney Cooper to replace injured Kycia Knight in third ODI against Australia

10 September, 2019

Cooper will replace the injured Knight in the West Indies Women's squad for the 3rd and final ODI against Australia, Cricket West Indies announced on Wednesday (September 10).

Knight was stretchered off in the 1st ODI - which West Indies lost by 178 runs - after injuring her lower back in Coolidge. She didn't come out to bat and subsequently was ruled out of the 2nd ODI that West Indies lost by 151 runs. On examination of scans on her back, the medical team ruled her out of the remainder of the series.

Cooper wasn't part of the initial squad given her string of single-digit scores against England earlier in June. But the injury to Knight had her called in, and she joined the team on Monday for the final ODI on Wednesday in Antigua, after which, the hosts will take on Australia in a three-match T20I series starting from 14 September in Barbados.
