24 August, Saturday-Jasprit Bumrah picked his 50th test wicket in the first test against West Indies. In this process he beacame the fastest Indian bowler in terms of deliveries bowled to take 50 test wickets. Bumrah took 2465 balls to achieve the feat whereas Ashwin took 2597 balls.
He took 11 tests to take 50 wickets breaking the joint record of Venkatesh Prasad and Mohammed Shami. His best bowling figures are 6/33. His economy rate is 2.66.
He made his test debut against South Africa in Cape Town last year.
In the ongoing test India has scored 297 runs after being asked to bat by the hosts. Ajinkya Rahane was the highest scorer with 81 runs while Jadeja contributed 58 runs.
Currently India are 89 runs ahead.
